Anita Smith is an award winning garden designer and plants person who graduated from Merrist Wood having studied a two year HND in Garden Design and Horticulture during which she won an inter-college competiton for 'Best Interpretation of a Client Brief'.

Since qualifying Anita has created gardens across Surrey and Hampshire and offers a full design and build service or just a design for self build clients. She also offers planting advice and planting plans and creates container gardens for indoor or outdoor use. She also offers rendering services to other designers and architects.

 

Everyone at Anita Smith Designs is fully trained in design, horticulture and landscaping and will strive to create gardens of the highest quality. 

Anita has worked on a number of community projects collaborating with local sculptor Ruth Wheeler.  They work together to transform outdoor spaces for schools and local communities. They run workshops for the school children and community residents to create gardens and sculptures for rundown and underused spaces. To date they have completed 5 joint projects which include a memorial sculpture garden, a quite garden and a project to transform an area in Sheerwater Woking and of course Anita's RHS medal winning Sustainable Garden at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show.

Workshops

Anita Smith is also a quaified teacher with over 20 years experience and teaches Garden, Landscape and Planting design at Merrist Wood College.

 

Anita also runs her own Garden  Design and Art workshops. These are tailored to suit the individual and can either be held in the comfort of your own home or in a separate local venue for small groups.
